Harmonious Chorale is the first choir to represent Ghana at the World Choir Games, the biggest international choral music event in the world, becoming a world champion in its maiden participation in Tshwane, South Africa in 2018.
In October 2017, the choir staged the biggest choral music event in Ghana dubbed “Nyame Ye Concert” to mark its 10th Anniversary Celebration. In attendance were the Former President of Ghana H.E. Jerry John Rawlings, the Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Ghana, the Deputy Minister for Interior and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central Hon. Henry Quartey and many more.
For the past ten years, the Harmonious Chorale has been noted for drawing thousands of audiences to its organized concerts and events almost always to the overflow of the auditorium including the one thousand, five hundred (1,500) seating National Theatre and the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). The Harmonious Chorale brand appeals to ranking members of the clergy, high ranking government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, corporate leaders and executives and the youth both in and outside Ghana.
Over the years, the choir has staged four major oratorios; The Creation by Joseph Haydn in 2011, Mendelssohn’s Elijah in 2013, The Messiah by G.F. Handel in 2014, and for the first time in Africa, Joseph and His Brethren by G.F. Handel in 2017.
The choir has also performed at several functions which includes the Burial Service for the Late Vice President H. E. Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur – 27th July, 2018; the launching of the Head of States Awards Scheme (HOSA) 2018 – 29th March, 2018; Unveiling of the Design for the National Cathedral – 6th March, 2018; 25th Anniversary of the 4th Republic of Ghana – January 7, 2018; Luncheon with the President – December 25th 2017, 73rd birthday Celebration of the President- March 29th 2017, etc.
